About the farm
Stewardship, craftsmanship, and steady progress.
Rainmaker Prairie Farms is a developing, diversified farm in Buffalo County, Nebraska.

Built for the long term
We focus on pasture-based livestock, orchard and pollinator habitat, and durable on-farm infrastructure built to support a working farm.
The goal is not to force the farm into a single mold. It is to build useful systems, learn what thrives here, and keep improving the property season after season.
That means planting trees whose shade and harvest will grow over time, caring for animals every day, putting up structures that can take Nebraska weather, and making good use of what the land produces.
Our approach
Four ideas guide the work
- StewardshipLeave the soil, habitat, and property better than we found them.
- DurabilityBuild and repair with the next decade—not just the next weekend—in mind.
- PracticalityChoose useful improvements that make daily farm work safer and simpler.
- Local connectionShare seasonal food and the story of the farm with our neighbors.
